Universal Topics / Friend who is scared with heavier weights
« on: March 01, 2016, 09:44:40 PM »
How do you get a lifter to be more comfortable under heavier weights? For example, I had my friend doing some doubles. I have him report an RPE just so I can gauge how hard it was. He reported the RPE as a 9, but it looked like an RPE of 6. I think he is just scared of heavier weights. How do you account for this in your programming?

« on: November 05, 2015, 11:38:49 PM »
I recently switched back to conventional deadlifting because sumo was giving my hips a lot of problems. Could I get a form check on my conventional deadlift. This is 80% paused.

Could I get a bench press form check? I have been working hard on this. The first set is a narrower grip (pinkies on ring) and the second set is a wider grip (ring finger on ring).

Universal Topics / Coming back from a bad workout
« on: October 08, 2015, 05:31:09 AM »
Today I had a terrible workout. I was supposed to 4 sets of 3 reps on 1+1/2(2x) deadlift at 415lbs but I only did 1 set of 1 rep at 385lbs and 2 sets of 3 reps at 330lbs. I have done several sets of 4 at 405lbs in the past but I couldn't do it today. How do you all recover from a bad workout?

CMS, MS, & MSIC (4-day programs) / Short Meet Prep Programming Advice
« on: September 28, 2015, 06:04:34 PM »
I just competed last weekend, and I ended up going 430/257/551lbs for S/B/D. On my last attempt for deadlift I went for a Texas record of 573lbs. I couldn't break it off of the floor. I have a meet planned in 6 weeks and wanted to try and break the record again then. Could anyone give me some programming advice.

Eye of Sheiko / Sumo Deadlift Form Check
« on: September 28, 2015, 05:59:56 PM »
I need a form check for my sumo deadlift. I am very slow off the floor and wanted to make sure it was not a technique issue. The first video is my successful 551lb deadlift from last weekend and the second video is my failed 573lb deadlift from last weekend.
