Universal Topics / What counts as volume
« on: May 18, 2017, 08:30:29 PM »
How come good mornings does not count as training volume, for deadlift. But for example front squats does for squats?
Is there some general guidelines by sheiiko for regarding training volume and what exercise count in as training volume?

Some good lifters. Tomorrow is the 83 kg with some great lifters. I big possibility that we have 2-3 lifters over 240 kg squat. I would guess we could se one lifter over 250 kg squat. There's also a chance of a 290-300 kg deadlift from one of these lifters.

Universal Topics / Bench press question.

In what way can close grip and medium grip bench press help you to increase the "wide" bench press?

I kind of suck at bench press. I don't have very much muscles on the over body to be a good bencher. What kind of exercises is most effective as assistant work, for putting on more mass on the over body to get stronger in bench?

A question to mr Sheiko.

Hello I'm soon starting a new round of cms 1. Since the forum arrived, I kind of find out that the program is a little bit to high volume for me ( according to the classification system).  I read in the thread about the new three days program where the volume is a bit lover, by reducing one of two warm up sets at 70 %.

1. So is a idea for me to reduce the volume. If the volume is to high (according to the classification system) (I do not feel "over trained") and if so why?

2. If so. Does it sound like a good idea to reduce the warm up set at 70% to one instead of two?

3. Other suggestions?

CMS, MS, & MSIC (4-day programs) / Run the same cms over again.
« on: July 06, 2014, 03:00:06 AM »
I think I read this in some thread but I can't find it.
If I understand right you're supposed to do for example 29-30-32 I after each other. But what about cms?
I'm I supposed to do cms - cms 2 - cms 3. Or am I supposed to follow one of these and start all over again from beginning the same program, with maybe increased weights and stay with the same cms until I do competition cycle?

Universal Topics / Different technic for different body types?
« on: June 22, 2014, 11:52:00 AM »
Does Mr Sheiko wants all lifters to struggle towards the same technic or should lifters consider that different body types gives different technic for the lifts?

I'm not talkning about if you dead lift conventional or sumo and if bench narrow grip.

For example I'm leaning a bit forward when I squat. And I have pretty experienced people around me that says that if "you have long legs there's always gonna be a little bit of leaning in the squat". And I have other people that says, "stay more upright" .Which seems impossible for me even without weight on the bar.

At what "stage" do you think its a good idea to mix up the competiition lifts?
The deadlift is already mixed up with variations in the programs i have seen, but what about the bench and the squat?

Universal Topics / Frequency for squat and deadlift.

Hello.
I have two norweigen lifters in my club and they both follow Dietmar programs ( the coach of Norway).
In Dietmars programs you squat, bench and deadlift (variations) almost every session. And in the Sheiko programs I have seen you squat twice à week. Even  do its a far amount of volym that it would be possible to spread it out during more sessions. Its even more obvious when you look at the deadlift that is one or two day sa week.
So whats the general thoughts on that?
