Most gyms that I've used only have a few 2.5lb / 1kg plates, and they're always disappearing.  Below 90%, I've taken to rounding my target weights to the nearest value I can make with 5lb plates.

Does anyone else skip the 1kg plates at lower percentages? Does a small mismatch from the target weight matter at low percentages?

I just round it too. No big deal I think.

I always round up. Micro plates are useful but not a necessity.

I do the same thing, round up if its a wierd number. Also my gym only has down to 1.25 kg plates, which i can never find 2 of within a short timespan.

Always rounding up, although I can make any weight witin 0.5 kg.

I advise my lifters to round the weights. If a competition is less than 2 weeks out or an athlete feels bad, then always round downward.
