Technique advice from Boris Sheiko:

- During the squat, you go very deep, this is why in the bottom of the movement your lat muscles relax, they are too soft. That kind of technique comes from weightlifting (impact in the bottom). This is quite dangerous for your knees which may cause an injury. I recommend that you sit 5cm below parallel, no more. Once a week you will do squats on to a box. The height of the box has to be exactly 5cm below parallel depth.

- Bench press. There is no explosion in the lower phase. The first part of your bench needs to be better. You don’t pause on the chest. Pause during your first rep of every set, and then continue with your repetitions as you usually do. Do it with every set with any weight on the barbell. It helps you to avoid making mistakes at the competition.
