Sumo Deadlift Form Check
« on: September 28, 2015, 05:59:56 PM »
I need a form check for my sumo deadlift. I am very slow off the floor and wanted to make sure it was not a technique issue. The first video is my successful 551lb deadlift from last weekend and the second video is my failed 573lb deadlift from last weekend.

I feel you should set up with your shins almost touching the bar, they are quite far back, unless this was chosen for a specific reason?

Your hips rise a little at the start, so you could experiment changing the start with a very slightly higher hip.

Otherwise can't really see much to note from this camera angle.

What camera angle would be better?

Too much of your body is in front of the bar. Spread all the way down to the bar thinking of keeping your hips as close to the bar as possible

Keep the bar close to your shins.
