Hook grip

I've found the hook grip hard on my hands when doing LOCKOUTS (pulling from pins) of 4 or more reps. Chalk only helps at the lower reps. Would you use straps, gloves, a reverse grip, or a different approach?

I'd just strap up for high-rep sets.

How long have you been doing hook grip for? When I started it hurt my hand heaps but i just got used to it and now it doesn't hurt at all.
If you're new to hook grip maybe just stick with it for a bit. If not then idk
