Me at the World Bench Press championships
« on: May 26, 2015, 12:43:01 PM »
A vid of me at the 2015 IPF world bench press championships last week.

http://youtu.be/J-Pz6IcBkFs

I lifted 200, 210, 217.5kg at 82.74kg bodyweight and came 9th, just missing out on 8th place.

Thanks to Robert Frederick for some advice a couple of months ago.

Well theres a non lifting story I could tell, but other than that I was only there for 2 days, I saw the 15 year old Jap who benched 295kg, I warmed up with Kodama and Fukushima which was an experience. After Fukushima did a 260kg raw, cheat bench he asked me if I wanted that weight and was serious about it :). I spoke to the Japanese lad who lifted in the 120kg class and asked about training, he said he and Ueda benched 4 times a week but Kodama and Fukushima trained everyday.

Kodama was said to train everyday, same for the 15 year old who benched 295kg. The lad in the 120kg class said he trained 4 times a week, one of those sessions being done equipped, he said Ueda benched 4 days a week.

Thanks a 7.5kg comp pb is good especially at an international comp with a huge reduction in weight to make the weigh in.
