What is my favourite knee wrap technique? The cross.

What is my favourite knee wrap technique? The cross.

There are many ways to wrap your knees. I am going to describe  a favourite of mine. All of my champions wrap like this.

Wraps should be applied starting from below the knee upwards with maximum stretching of the wraps. The leg being wrapped should be straight during the process and the leg muscles should be relaxed (frame 1). The first round of wraps is put directly under the knee joint (frame 2, 3). The second round should cover the kneecap. Every round should cover half of the previous round. You can wrap 4-5 rounds depending on the length and thickness of the leg (frames 4,5,6). The last round must be at 1 thickness of the wrap above of the knee joint. The following round should be applied from the top down diagonally (frame 7). The next round goes from the bottom to top diagonally as well so that you have a cross on the knee (frame 8). If the length of the wrap will allow, it is possible to make another cross using this method . After this you should do the last/fixing round (frame 9), which is tucked under the wraps tighlty (frames 10,11,12). Wraps should be wrapped tightly. The tighter the better effect you get. But here like everywhere there is a “golden mean”, otherwise wraps too stiff can injure your ligaments, arteries and so on.

As I said there are many ways. For example you can see another way to wrap from the Legend Ed Coan.
