Android app 3x6 at 80% with chains?
« on: February 23, 2018, 10:49:51 AM »
Currently on advanced med load prep 2 week 3 day 4. My program (android version) calls for 3x6 at 80% with chains at the bench. This has to be wrong, am I right?

3 reps of 6 sets does not sound wrong but perhaps Robert can verify this?

edit: didn't see you wrote chains in the subject.

I suppose that is supposed to be "base 80%" and didnt had the chains calculated in yet.

You are supposed lower the plateweight, with 50% of the chain weight

Example : 1RM = 140kg , 80% = 112kg. 1 pair of chains = 20kg

6*3* 102kg plateweight (bar+plates) + 20kg chains.

IIRC with sheiko the recommended chainweight is 15% of your 1rm.
