Volume for heavy lifters
« on: October 23, 2017, 11:07:36 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am a CMS heavyweight lifter (127kg) and the last few months I trained generally lowerish volume as I was preparing for a meet and got burned out before from really high volume.

Do you recommend to start with the advanced small load or start with the medium load and adjust from there? small load seems to be a little low in volume.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

I would say it depends also on your age and the ' toughness'  of your life outside lifting, as well as on your lifting history. If all these are favorable, maybe do medium load. If not, small load. You can always add some extra sets on exercises to crank the volume up a bit if things are too easy on small load.
