Training / 3 or 4 day.

-sorry if this is in the wrong spot.

I've been using the app for a few years now (4 day adv. med) and the 3 day bench after my hernia operation.  I turned 45 a while back.  I'm finding I need a bit more rest nowadays.
I am around candidate for master of sport @ around 250lbs.

 Is it time to do less volume?
Should I stick with 4 days or do the 4 days and drop day 4 or do the med. 3 day a week?  Anything in particular Sheiko or yourself recommend for a older lifter?

Hi Robert,

I recently upgraded my Iphone and brought the APP over, which worked with no problems, but the bench programs I bought (all of them) didn't transfer over.  It says I have to buy them again.  Any ideas to help with this?

Right on. I just finished getting umbilical hernia surgery so I want to ease into squatting and deadlifting as they are much tougher on the area than benching or so I think.

Are the bench programs the same as the regular app ones, u put in your lift(s) numbers and it picks the right program for u?

Just a quick update. I still read everything here.  I'm on my 4th round with the app, and hit a nice 520 lb squat today.  I had a bit more in me, but I bettered my max (as it was testing squat max day) by 5 lbs. 

I'm 43, and feel like I've still got a lot to give. 

Without a doubt, this is the best training I've ever done.

I'm on my third go round now, 2nd one with the app.  I've gotten my squat up to 515 lbs and my bench up to 390 lbs.  My deadlift went down a bit to 465 - however I'm not really concerned as my hips were really feeling beaten up from the sumo deads - so I skipped some deadlift training.

I've got I think 4 weeks to go, and then I'll run through a mini meet for myself.

I've also gotten a  better understand of it, and have been able to add/switch some exercises, reps etc... without compromising the program.

The timer in between sets was perfect, where did it go and/or why?  It was absolutely perfect - as I don't have a watch to count my rest periods.

Can it be brought back?

So it was meant to be like that then?  First time in, it guides you where to start, then after that its up to you to get it.

..and I'm not disagreeing with what you've said either - I've made some fantastic gains with this btw, and have recommended it to all the young kids in the gym who want to get strong.

I just finished my 2nd round on the APP, and plugged in my new maxes, but it never chose me a program this time - any reason why?  The first time it did.

Holy moly! That squat and bench increase is amazing!  :o GREAT work. Also, a 20lb increase on your dead isn't anything to shake a finger at. Good work.

I'm on my 2nd go round with the program.  I've modified some of the days, added a few extra reps/sets (similar to Roberts volume one).  This time I'm using the APP, and it's excellent. 

I don't think I've been this strong in years.  At 42 I feel like I'm still peaking and getting stronger.

Personally, I don't think doing day 1 and day 2 back to back is good.  Especially as you move through the program.   There is a lot of volume - in particular with regards to benching, and doing some of the days back to back I think is overkill on the body, system etc..
