Beginners (3-day programs) / Planning
« on: November 01, 2018, 01:24:31 PM »
I signed up for a meet the 2nd of Februari this week, and I'm unsure how to structure my training to peak for that meet. There is also a mock meet at my gym the 15th of December I'd like to participate in if it doesn't hurt my meet performance. The mock meet is in 6 weeks from this saturday, and the meet in 13 weeks from this saturday.

Lifts last tested in June: 152,5/115/195 @ -93kg. I didn't train in August, so I'd estimate my maxes around 157,5/120/202,5 now.

I'm currently in week 4 of prep 1 IML, so there are 8 weeks left of the program. Does it make sense to add 2 weeks to my prep, test on the mock meet and then run a 7 week competition cycle or is it better to forget about the mock meet and extend the prep by 9 weeks? Or maybe shorten the program and run it twice before the meet?

Sorry for rambling, the more I think about it, the more confused I get. I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Training Logs / Training log

Hi everyone,

I'll be competing in 9 weeks, this is the log of the training leading up to that. I compete classic, IPF in the -93kg weight class and will be running a bastardised version of intermediate large load. This will be the first time I run a Sheiko program in its entirety so I'm very excited! (I've run about 12 weeks of Sheiko programming before, but never an entire cycle because I had a competition half way.)

Age: 19 (I've been training for 3 years)
Height: 177cm
Weight: 91kg
Best competition lifts: 135/105/185
Best gym lifts: 150/110/190

Sportsmen: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Classes (3-day programs) / No lat/bicep work?

In the over 80kg program there is 0 lat/bicep work (except a little indirect work during deadlifts) in the comp period. Also in the prep work you only work out your lats once a week. Is this intentional or is it ok if I add some weighed pull ups? And won't the lack of bicep work cause elbow problems?

Sorry if this is a stupid question that has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.
