Title: IPF Raw Worlds 2014
Post by: Bench Polkov on June 05, 2014, 05:56:23 PM
Is on right now, who's watching?

You can stream it from here: http://goodlift.info/live.php

I've got lots of mates over there now and was meant to be lifting there myself but had to pull out. Sheiko student Stephen Pritchard will be lifting on Sunday in the 120s against US superman Mike Tuscherer (sp?).

Hours ago i saw a lot of chicks in the -72kg class that did not know how to spread their legs. That is UNACCEPTABLE!!

I think this kind of comment is unacceptable.

These women compete on the same platform as their male counterparts and demand exactly the same levels of respect. These women are athletes, not sex objects.

While watching the stream last night I too commented to a friend about how common knee valgus collapse seemed to be amongst the women, but turning such an observation into a debasing and belittling remark as you have done is something I don't think should be tolerated.

I kind of agree. Some light innuendo is ok as humor but overt sexism and lewdness will not be tolerated.

Sure I belittled them. They're nothing but sex objects and I only watched them lift to jerk off.

Seriously, it was a joke. relax.

RAW World Championships 2014 is not finished yet. But the absolute winner by Wilks is already known I guess.

A joke, yes. Acceptable, no.

Whether you meant it in harmless fun is besides the point. Jokes like this aren't funny precisely because they're insideous.

I'm not sure if this is just a cultural difference or something, but nobody would react like this in Denmark.

The New Zealand junior Brett Gibbs broke that record. He took 83 class junior and open records for squat (280kg) and total (770.5kg).

There has been some great lifting and many records have fallen.

Congrats to Stephen Pritchard for the world record. Again a significant improvement. Yes, the 500 wilks raw are close to you!

Also congrats to my friend Mike T, who is one of the more humble and powerful lifters I ever known

Thank you. I have dropped 23kg bodyweight so I am happy to post a reasonable total. Now I have settled around 120kg I hope to build better lifts. Coach Sheiko has been brilliant guiding through the difficulties of weight loss.

Sheiko guided me in a general sense- he told me what approach to take- which was reducing calories- made the appropriate adjustments to training- and gave me guidance on making weight for competition.
I found eating multiple meals per day was the best approach- I had a very low calorie diet and ate 5-6 meals per day. I ate a small amount of calories just before training- especially squats.
This took me from 143 to 123kg.
