Support / Sheiko Gold Observation
« on: July 19, 2020, 10:44:01 AM »
Hi Robert

Sorry for one more question.

Due to an injury (unrelated to training) I am about to start again with Sheiko Gold.

I have one question please

Following the observation period will the programming be similar to the style of programming I entered during the observation period but with the AI input, or will it be 'typical Sheiko' style programming but based on my volume/strength inputs?

For instance if I was doing a 531 style program in the observation period would the AI program in this style?
Or would it be more typical Sheiko programming?
Or neither?

I hope that makes sense?

I am just starting the app regardless I was just wondering.

Many thanks

James

Support / Sheiko Gold

Hi Robert

Sheiko Gold looks fantastic, I am currently in the observation period. I'm really excited to see how it programs for me as I have found it hard to consider all the different options when trying to adapt/adjust the original templates.

One question I have is will I be able to split a workout up if needed? My schedule sometimes doesn't (but sometimes does) allow for a 2hr session but I can do two 1hr sessions.

I also train when on shift at the Fire Station so sometimes get disturbed by a call!

So I guess I'm asking if I can 'pause' or split a workout if needed?

I want to do them as prescribed and will do my best to but I was just wondering.

Thanks

James

Eye of Sheiko / Sumo Deadlift Critique
« on: July 03, 2019, 09:58:02 PM »
Hey guys if anyone has any feedback for me on this lift I’d appreciate it.
It’s only about 75% of my current max and nowhere near my all time but just trying to nail my form.
Anyway any opinions would be great.

Thanks

Universal Topics / Skills test and max adjustments
« on: June 10, 2019, 06:10:28 PM »
Hi guys

I have done a long search but struggled to find an exact answer to my question, apologies if this has been asked before (and it probably has).

When I do the skills test and enter the reps I get for that percentage will the app adjust my max and/or the subsequent weights for the rest of the plan?

Again apologies if this is answered elsewhere.

Many thanks

James

Hi guys

Apologies in advance I know these questions get asked fairly frequently but I can't find an answer to this.
I can't see a test day in the intermediate small load program. Can anyone confirm if there is one?

Thanks

James

Hi guys

Would I be correct in thinking that i can add some accessory work in addition to the specific exercises in the app?
Just some general back and maybe arm work really.
As long as I keep it submaximal I'm guessing it wouldn't be a problem?

Thanks

Universal Topics / Doms from squats
« on: July 13, 2018, 05:02:03 PM »
Hi guys.

I get really severe DOMS from the squat sessions. To the point where I can't train them again for 4-5 days.

Could I run the first prep cycle but do half the number of sets. Then repeat it and add one more set each time I do the cycle until I do it in full?

At the moment I am just so sore it's stopping me training again for 4-5 days.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Universal Topics / Difference in Physique
« on: February 16, 2017, 01:54:27 PM »
Hi Everyone

I was wondering how much difference it makes in terms of how you look doing a physique/bodybuilding style program vs Sheiko?

I know that people say you will look more 'balanced' and I am guessing the total volume would be higher on a bodybuilding style of training but for the average person (at the same level of body fat) how much difference would it make in terms of how you look? Would it be very noticeable?

I am just asking out of interest as I have never done a bodybuilding style of training.
I am loving Sheiko and not looking to change I was just interested in Everyone's thoughts?

Thanks

CMS, MS, & MSIC (4-day programs) / Assistance Exercises
« on: February 15, 2017, 01:56:53 AM »
Hi guys.
I am following the small load prep cycle on the iPhone app. I have been following the assistance exercises as prescribed. I think I am lacking some muscle mass but I have no idea how (or if I should) to add extra volume? Shall I just stick to the plan or is there a method for adding more volume in? As I have read that volume is key for muscle growth.
I hope that all makes sense?
Thanks

Biomechanics / DOMS in adductors
« on: February 10, 2017, 01:18:11 PM »
Hi guys.
I seem to get excessive doms in my adductors after squatting. My quads etc can recover pretty well but my adductors can take up to 4 days.
Is there anything that typically causes this technique wise (or any other reason?)
I will post a video if it helps but I wanted to see if anyone knew of any common causes?
Thanks

Support / DB weight entry on app
« on: April 12, 2016, 03:02:27 PM »
Hi everyone.

I have tried searching for this so sorry if it has been answered elsewhere.

When entering the weight used for DB bench should I use the total weight (ie both Dumbbells added together) or the weight of each dumbbell.

I'm guessing it's the total weight?

Thanks

Universal Topics / Cycle progression on app
« on: March 23, 2016, 10:40:59 PM »
Hi guys

I'm currently doing the advanced small load prep cycle 1 on the app (this was recommended after entering my maxes).
After 4 weeks should I move into small load prep cycle 2, followed by 3?
Then in terms of testing maxes should I just test them or do a comp cycle first then test?

I don't have a competition booked at this time.

I hope that makes sense?

Thanks

Universal Topics / Deadlift Pause at Knee
« on: March 16, 2016, 02:39:04 AM »
Hi everyone.

I am using the app for the programming and the first deadlift is pause at knees. For the 1-RM should I put in my full deadlift 1RM or my pause at knee 1RM?

I hope that makes sense

Thank you

CMS, MS, & MSIC (4-day programs) / Exercise selection in app
« on: March 02, 2016, 09:21:37 PM »
Hi guys.

I have noticed that in some of the days there are two bench press exercises.
They both just say bench. Would I do them as flat bench or would the second one be something like close grip or board etc?

Just for clarification. These are not the 'chest muscles' exercises but the bench press ones.

Thank you

CMS, MS, & MSIC (4-day programs) / Bench 4x per week
« on: February 26, 2016, 06:19:14 PM »
Hi everyone.

I have read as many stickies as possible and done a search using the search box but couldn't find a specific answer to this question.

I have got the iPhone app and when I typed in my numbers it said I am a cms athlete and had me doing the small load advanced prep cycle 1.
I was surprised (perhaps incorrectly) to see that I will be benching 4x per week. This is more than I have read in the past and I was wondering the rationale?

I'm not saying I think this is wrong and I am happy to do the plan as prescribed but I was wondering why 4x per week?

If this has been answered somewhere else then apologies in advance and if you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Thank you

James
